Ciência e Técnica Vitivinícola journal - Impact Factor in 2024

We are very pleased and proud to announce:
The Impact Factor of Ciência e Técnica Vitivinícola jornal (https://www.ctv-jve-journal.org/), edited by INIAV/Polo de Inovação de Dois Portos/Estação Vitivinícola Nacional, rose from 0.8 to 1.1!
It results from a great teamwork: Editorial Board, Colleagues from this Polo/EVN, Directive Board of INIAV, INIAV Departments, Authors, Articles’ Reviewers, Sponsors and EDP Sciences Editor. Thank you all!
We were able to reverse the downward trend observed since 2019 and once again crossed an important threshold: 1. We move ahead with optimism that this indicator will increase in the coming years.

Ciência e Técnica Vitivinícola has 62 years of history (!), and is one of the few international scientific journals devoted exclusively to Viticulture, Enology and Vitivinicultural Economy. Besides, is one of the few Portuguese scientific journals with an Impact Factor and, as far as we know, the only one in the field of Agricultural Sciences with this attribute. It is therefore an extremely valuable asset for Polo de Inovação de Dois Portos/EVN, for INIAV, for Portugal and for Science

New procedure of publication

From 2018 on the Ciência e Técnica Vitivinícola will adopt a new procedure of publication. The articles of each Issue will be published continuously; that is, they will be online (already with page numbers) after being accepted by the Editorial Board, instead of being published all at once (in June or December of each year).

With this new procedure, the Editorial Board hopes to better meet the authors’ publication needs.

Ciência e Técnica Vitivinícola doubles its Impact Factor in 2017

According to the Journal Citation Reports® 2016, the Impact Factor of the Ciência e Técnica Vitivinícola journal rose to 0.850 (0.444 last year).

(INIAV)/ex-Estação Vitivinícola Nacional, now occupies the fourth placein the ranking of scientific journals of the Viticulture and Oenology area. This qualitative leap reflects the endeavour and commitment of all involved: Authors, Reviewers (from the Editorial Review Board and some other invited experts), Editorial Board, INIAV, Publisher, and Sponsors.

Editorial note (August 2014)

The journal Ciência e Técnica Vitivinícola has a long history in international scientific publications scenario, starting in 1962/1963 the publication of its predecessor De Vinea et Vino Portugalie Documenta, a non-periodical journal, which consisted of three series: Series I (Viticulture), Series II (Oenology) and Series III (Economics). In 1982, was effectively created the journal Ciência e Técnica Vitivinícola, which is half-yearly and written in three languages (Portuguese, French and English). In 2007 the journal has been completely restructured, becoming bilingual (Portuguese and English) and having an additional designation in English - Journal of Viticulture and Enology, thereby enhancing its international character. Since 1998 the journal is available online in the SciELO platform.

Aiming at increasing the international visibility of the Ciência e Técnica Vitivinícola, from 2014 the journal is published online by EDP Sciences. Through this digital platform, the authors can easily publish their works by electronic submission, and find scientific articles in the vitivinicultural field in open access, resulting in a widespread dissemination of research.
